Testimonials & Case Studies

Retail manager, UK 2018
Through our time together, Robert has helped me to better my relationship with my father, my girlfriend and more importantly myself. I live my life now with the image of a little Robert on my shoulder always being able to help and guide me in times of need… Counselling is not just for those who feel they are “broken” it can help anyone and everyone, we all need someone to talk to at some point and it helps when that person has the ability to return conversation in a way that will benefit your well being. I’ve learnt so much not only about certain conditions but about how to better my work life, my home life and so much more …!

Peter, London 2017
Robert and I have been working together for a few years now. I first started seeing him for my depression, it was actually my girlfriend’s idea to see someone and I was against the idea at first. However, a few sessions in I really started to realise the difference our sessions were beginning to make. One of the first things he said to me was; “we’re in a car, your driving and I have the map. I’m going to tell you where to go, however you’re driving so it’s up to you which way we go. Also, there’s some stuff in the boot that we’re going to have to get out at some point, but your the driver so we’ll only stop when you decide to. I thought this was brilliant.

Case Study

Working with Jason
Jason was seeking to manage a complex situation, where a relationship with a work colleague had ended, and with the range of emotions, Jason needed to continue to maintain an effective working relationship and work through the feelings outside of that relationship dynamic, and to contain mixed feelings of longing, anger and loss. This was causing distress and impacting home life. The solution focussed work, revolved around asking Jason to establish some key short term and long terms, or how she wanted to feel or practical changes with the benefit of therapy. Integrating coaching techniques the work supported Jason to first establish and commit to firm and clear boundaries between herself and the colleague in her mind and then at work, to ensure support and help contain emotions. This meant not sharing emotional information with colleague , and directing this into therapy and friends, to enable the necessary transition and protect work. This was a difficult path, and worked with depression and bereavement, which was now possible within the discipline of the frame through solution focussed work.

In Jasons words
Thank you for all your guidance and support, and giving me the space to think. It helped me get through what was and is still sometimes a difficult time. Best wishes and thanks once again’. June 2016

I’ve been working with Robert for over a year and can honestly say he has significantly improved my mental health and quality of life. A former sceptic of therapy, I’ve come to realise that it’s one of the best investments I have ever made in my own personal development, relationships and well-being. Robert is incredibly effective at identifying and resolving the issues which underlie my personal challenges and counter productive behaviour. I have every reason to give Robert my highest recommendation.

It took me years to finally make the decision to meet a therapist. I had always associated therapy and counselling with illness, depression or abnormality. It turned out this could not be less true. Therapy with Robert enabled me to make sense of myself. I slowly began to take control of my own life and feel like a normal person; I wasn’t alone anymore
