Therapy retreat and group facilitation work
As Clinical Lead at The School of Life (TSOL), I’ve had the privilege to deliver a series of 12 transformative therapeutic retreats since 2023, enabling participants to work through emotional blocks and who seek to live with greater freedom from distress in their lives. Over the past 2 years at the wonderful 42 Acres site in Somerset, over 220 participants have attended the 4 days residential therapeutic retreat. Recognizing the power of healing and reflection residential retreats can offer, I am inspired to continue this work and will be planning new retreats for 2026 supported by wonderful colleagues. See a couple of testimonials below;
” I can’t thank you enough for creating that space and the conditions that I could go to those places within myself and with others. Truly fundamentally life-changing” Howard who attended TSOL August 2025 retreat
” Robert I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, the retreat gave me so much, people are noticing that I am somehow different now” Claire, who attended TSOL May 2025 retreat
Creative therapy facilitation work
In recent years, I’ve become increasingly passionate about bringing therapy into community spaces, to support people to better connect where they live and to enhance the emotional health and well-being in the area I both live and work. Too often, we face life’s challenges alone. From my work in teams and delivering retreats, I am inspired by the magic that can happen when people share insight, wisdom and vulnerability. I am committed to make it easier for people to meet and connect through shared curiosity, creative imagination, and care — in ways that feel safe, intelligent, and joyful.
That’s why I’ll be launching a Therapeutic Connection Groups in 2026 — which will be an in-person space for example a regular fortnightly group of people who wish to have meaningful and intelligent exploration of dreams, creativity, and the process of healing together.

NEW for 2026 – Creative Dream Group: Exploring the Imagination and Connection
A new in-person group in Hertfordshire for those wanting to explore their inner world — and meet and connect with others through the shared language of dreams and creative imagination. Allow a space to explore the part of ourselves that can remain hidden during the busy goals driven day to day lives.
This small group (8–12 people) will use dream work, creative imagination, art, and music to deepen self-awareness and connection. Together, we’ll explore both night dreams and waking dreams — the visions and intentions that shape our lives.
Over three months, we’ll build a supportive, trusting group that nurtures insight and creativity, with the option to join a residential retreat later in the year. The idea is a fortnighly group that meets and deepens connection over time. A group daytime and an evening group.

NEW for 2026 – Therapeutic Connection Groups: A Creative Introduction to EMDR and the Healing Process
These small in-person groups are designed for those who want to know more about EMDR and better understand the role and the process of healing from trauma that EMDR can offer.
Through guided discussions, reflective exercises, and an introduction to the principles of EMDR, participants will begin to understand how the mind and body hold experience — and how we can work gently to release it, through a exciting and gentle encounter with the rich world of creative imaigination.
The focus is on learning, self-discovery, and connection with others. You’ll leave with greater awareness of how EMDR works, tools for emotional regulation, and new insights into your own healing journey.
Where: Paddington, London
When: Early 2026 (half-day workshop)
Led by: Robert Cuming – Therapist, EMDR Practitioner, and Group Facilitator
